My name is Ekaterina (Kat) Gusarova and I have worked as an animator since 2016. I co-founded the studio Wooden Plane Productions with my husband, Will Mackenzie, where we worked on a large variety of projects, ranging from directing short films to working in video games and creating assets for TTRPGs.

 

I graduated in 2016 with a BA in Character Animation, where I was trained for 3D and classical 2D animation. During the pandemic, I decided to study further to expand my skillset, and I graduated with a BSc in Interactive Media in 2021. On top of those, I also hold two diplomas in Classical Art.

I’m an enthusiastic and helpful person who works well with others, so I am looking for a place to contribute to great projects! I have a real passion for creature animation and acting shots, as well as a strong understanding of story structure and media analysis.

​

I live and work in Vancouver, British Columbia, as a permanent resident of Canada.

 

In my spare time, I play Dungeons & Dragons, play with my two pet ferrets, paint miniatures and watch dinosaur documentaries.
